Lurbel’s Regenactiv and Bmax technologies. Complete natural protection

Regenactiv is an excellent example of the R&D performed by one of the world’s leading mountain sock brands: the Valencia-based Lurbel.

Just like a base layer of clothing for the mountain, socks are a fundamental accessory that is often overlooked. It doesn’t make much sense to spend tons of money on mountain shoes that offer high performance and every guarantee imaginable and then ruin it all with a sub-par sock, which in the end is the accessory that comes into direct contact with the skin.

There is one brand that stands out above the rest of socks designed for the mountain with a reputation based on its renowned research department. That brand is Lurbel.

A good example of the brand’s expertise is the Regenactiv fabric, which its lab launched a few years ago; Regenactiv is made from completely natural fabrics for enhanced antibacterial and antifungal protection that reaches 99% in cases of the most common fungi.

REGENACTIV

How is it made?

The brand first developed a natural base, in this case a cellulosic fiber. Advantage number one: it absorbs 50% more than cotton garments.

They then discovered a perfect ionization for that base...with natural marine-based particles extracted from crustaceans and mollusks.

And to top it off, they weave it together with a silver mesh called the silver base layer to form the structure of the fabric.

What benefits does it provide?

  • Protection against fungi and bacteria.
Laboratory tests show that it reduces Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Escherichia coli, and Pseudomona aeruginosa by 99%, and Epydermophyton stockadalae and Tricophyton mentagrophytes by between 76 to 90%.
In addition, the growth level of Candida albicans and Epidermophyton floccosum is 0%.
  • Prevents skin irritation
Tests also show that, due to the fabric’s protection against fungi and its great moisture-wicking ability, skin irritability is reduced to 0% in many cases.
How is it used?

Lurbel has incorporated Regenactiv fabric into its line in two ways:
  • In over 90% of its compression socks
This makes it possible for skin to quickly recover its natural immunity after hard, punishing physical activity, helping to aseptically prevent lesions.
  • In a smaller number as part of Lurbel’s star product: Bmax.

BMAX
Bmax fabric was launched in 2012 as an evolution of Regenactiv. It harnesses the benefits of Regenactiv’s skin protection technology in a range of athletic racing and mountain socks. Its performance, keeping the feet in perfect conditions while preventing blisters, overheating, humidity and friction, has resulted in the international takeoff of the Valencian brand.

The Bmax range includes a full range of socks for all types of activities: extremely hot temperatures, winter cold, etc.
